LAUNCHING YOUR BOAT
The public boat launch is located at the southern end of the lake near the Dam.
The city of Pittsfield has provided a large parking area with car and trailer parking. There is ample room to rig your boat
and unlimited clearance for your mast. The boat ramp is wide and has a very nice floating dock to tie your boat off on. The
water is deep enough to launch keelboats up to 24 ft. long. Centerboard and shoal draft boats launch with ease. The channel
out to the lake is narrow and is difficult to sail out of; motoring out or getting a tow is the only way to get a large boat
out. Small boats can be walked up the beach then sailed out.
RENTING A BOAT
BCS has a very nice fleet of rental sailboats. For more information on our fleet see our boat inventory page,
or download our brochure for boats and prices.
STORING YOUR BOAT
Summer:
Berkshire Community Sailing rents seasonal Moorings for all types of sailboats. The rates are comparable and come with some
very nice amenities. Along with the Mooring, boat owners get a key to the Trailer and use of all Community Sailing owned boats.
Winter:
There are three local Marinas that offer winter boat storage for a fee, two use outdoor storage and one offers indoor storage.
We recommend to all our members that they use Quarks Marine on Valentine Rd. in Pittsfield.
